In a significant boost to urban digital transformation, Ishan Netsol Pvt. Ltd., a leading ICT and digital connectivity solutions provider under Ishan Technologies, has announced a strategic agreement with the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) to deploy a citywide MPLS Dark Fiber network. The initiative is set to power Surat’s Smart City infrastructure, connecting over 1,000 locations across the city for a period of seven years.
The new network will serve as the digital backbone for Surat’s civic operations, enabling uninterrupted functioning of critical services including CCTV surveillance, SCADA systems, attendance management, and other citizen-centric applications. To ensure reliability, the project will feature redundant internet facilities designed to guarantee 99.5% uptime, ensuring continuity of essential services across all connected sites.
