FSS Simply Payments 2025 Showcases How AI and Governance Are Transforming India’s Digital Payments Backbone

Financial Software

Financial Software and Systems (FSS), a leading global payments technology provider, hosted its flagship Simply Payments 2025 conference in Mumbai, spotlighting how artificial intelligence, governance, and modern engineering frameworks are powering the next phase of India’s digital payments evolution. With the theme ‘AI in Payments: Governance, Security & Frameworks’, the event focused on how robust backend infrastructure directly enhances speed, reliability, and consumer trust in everyday transactions.

“Every Indian interacts with digital payments daily, and our focus is to make these experiences instant, secure, and frictionless.” — V Balasubramanian, CEO, FSS

FSS shared strong adoption momentum of its platforms across both domestic and international banking ecosystems. The company secured over ten major new contracts for its BLAZE payment platform in the past year, with its AI-powered Smart Recon solution expected to onboard an additional 150 banks — crossing the 200-bank milestone by next year. At one public sector bank, FSS systems process more than 30 million daily e-commerce transactions along with high UPI volumes, demonstrating the scalability of the platform. In performance testing, the FSS payment gateway achieved 250,000 transactions per second — a benchmark critical for managing peak payment surges during festivals and salary cycles.

CEO V Balasubramanian emphasized that India’s digital payment expansion must now prioritize reliability and user trust. He said, “Every Indian interacts with digital payments daily, and our focus is to make these experiences instant, secure, and frictionless.”

“Our goal is to help banks launch services faster, maintain strong compliance, and deliver predictable performance.” — Vishal Maru, Global Processing Head, FSS

Vishal Maru, Global Processing Head, highlighted the importance of resilience and compliance, stating, “Our goal is to help banks launch services faster, maintain strong compliance, and deliver predictable performance even under heavy load.”

Through its Recon.AI platform, FSS has helped institutions reduce dispute resolution time, accelerate refund cycles, and cut processing costs by nearly 30%. These backend improvements are translating to fewer payment failures and smoother consumer experiences.

With industry leaders, regulators, and technologists in attendance, Simply Payments 2025 reinforced the message that India’s payments future will be shaped not just by scale — but by intelligence, security, and trust.
