Fortinet Named a Leader in 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Hybrid Mesh Firewall

Company placed highest in Ability to Execute, reinforcing leadership in converged networking and security

Fortinet announced it has been recognized as a Leader in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Hybrid Mesh Firewall (HMF) and was positioned highest for Ability to Execute.

This recognition marks Fortinet’s leadership in 12 Gartner Magic Quadrant reports, underscoring the company’s ability to combine innovation with execution across a broad cybersecurity portfolio. Fortinet’s hybrid mesh firewalls are powered by custom-built ASICs for accelerated performance and unified under FortiOS, the company’s single operating system that secures hardware, virtual, and cloud-native deployments.

“Being recognized as a Leader in the inaugural Gartner Magic Quadrant for Hybrid Mesh Firewall validates our commitment to delivering convergence and best-of-breed security everywhere.”

– Nirav Shah, SVP of Products and Solutions, Fortinet

Nirav Shah, Senior Vice President of Products and Solutions at Fortinet, said: “Being recognized as a Leader and placed highest in Ability to Execute validates our commitment to delivering convergence and best-of-breed security with FortiOS everywhere. With FortiAI innovations, integrated SOC, and early adoption of post-quantum cryptography, Fortinet continues to set the standard for protecting organizations across hybrid, dynamic environments.”

Fortinet’s leadership rests on three pillars:

  • Integrated Security – Consolidating FortiOS, FortiGuard Labs intelligence, and AI-powered defenses within the Fortinet Security Fabric, reducing complexity and enabling faster threat detection and response.
  • AI and Post-Quantum Innovation – With FortiAI-Assist, combining GenAI, agentic AI, and AIOps to simplify operations, alongside early adoption of post-quantum cryptography to safeguard sensitive data against future quantum threats.
  • Operational Flexibility – Through its FortiFlex usage-based licensing model, enabling customers to seamlessly switch between hardware, virtual, and cloud firewalls with pay-as-you-go agility.

Fortinet also highlighted its vision for the next-generation SASE firewall, which natively converges critical networking and security functions—including firewalls, SD-WAN, ZTNA, and CASB—within FortiOS, delivering consistent protection across data centers, cloud environments, and remote edges.

The recognition in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Hybrid Mesh Firewall builds on Fortinet’s recent leadership in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for SASE Platforms, reflecting the company’s ongoing mission to simplify adoption, reduce costs, and enhance user experiences in hybrid environments.
