Building on the success of its DS-1630 model, the new scanner delivers duplex scanning, enhanced speed, and energy efficiency at a competitive price.
Epson has introduced its latest innovation in document management – the WorkForce DS-1730 flatbed scanner – designed for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and public offices seeking high-quality, reliable, and affordable scanning solutions.
The DS-1730 builds on the success of Epson’s DS-1630 model, bringing several upgrades including duplex scanning, faster speeds, and a more compact, sustainable design. The scanner combines the flexibility of both automatic document feeder (ADF) and flatbed scanning, making it ideal for handling a wide range of document types — from fragile materials to standard business paperwork.
With a scanning resolution of up to 1200 dpi from the flatbed and 600 dpi from the ADF, the DS-1730 ensures impressive image clarity and professional-grade output. The device also supports TWAIN and ISIS drivers, enabling seamless integration into existing document management systems across industries.
Among its standout features, the scanner offers a daily duty cycle of up to 3,000 sheets and scan speeds reaching 30 pages per minute (ppm) or 60 images per minute (ipm), helping boost office productivity and streamline document workflows. It also includes Epson Document Capture OCR software, allowing users to create searchable PDFs or editable Microsoft Office files with ease.
Continuing Epson’s commitment to sustainability, the DS-1730 consumes less power than its predecessor, aligning with the company’s long-term goal to become carbon negative by 2050.
Priced at AUD $569, the WorkForce DS-1730 is now available through Epson’s official website and authorized partners across Australia.
Epson, a global leader in imaging and printing solutions, continues to innovate with efficient, compact, and precise technologies designed to enrich business workflows while reducing environmental impact.
