D-Link Launches Industrial-Grade 4G LTE M2M VPN Modem for Enterprise IoT Deployments

Purpose-built for harsh environments, the DWM-311 enables secure, always-on connectivity for mission-critical M2M and edge applications

D-Link A/NZ has expanded its industrial networking portfolio with the launch of the DWM-311 4G LTE M2M VPN Modem, engineered to support mission-critical Machine-to-Machine (M2M) and Industrial IoT applications. The ruggedised modem is designed for remote monitoring systems, smart vending, and infrastructure management where high availability, robust security, and reliable cellular connectivity are essential.

Delivering LTE Cat.4 speeds and Gigabit Ethernet connectivity, the compact device supports real-time data transmission for automation, telemetry, and operational intelligence. Built with a corrosion-resistant zinc-plated steel casing, the DWM-311 operates across wide temperature and humidity ranges, ensuring dependable performance in outdoor, industrial, and utility environments where traditional networking hardware often fails.

“Reliable and secure connectivity in challenging environments is no longer optional — it’s essential,” said Graeme Reardon, Managing Director, D-Link A/NZ. “The DWM-311 enables businesses to deploy M2M solutions with confidence, knowing their critical infrastructure will remain connected and secure, regardless of location or conditions.”

With plug-and-play functionality, the modem activates instantly with a Micro-SIM card, offering 4G cellular connectivity with an integrated OpenVPN client to safeguard data transmission. Advanced remote management through the optional D-ECS Edge Cloud Solution provides centralised monitoring, diagnostics, SMS control, geo-location mapping, and automated failure alerts — significantly reducing site visits and operational downtime.

Key Features and Benefits Include:

  • Cat.4 4G LTE connectivity with high-speed data transmission for M2M communications
  • Rugged industrial-grade steel casing with extended temperature tolerance
  • Integrated OpenVPN client for secure data transmission and encrypted connections
  • Gigabit Ethernet for fast LAN connectivity and low-latency performance
  • Cloud-based central management via D-ECS Portal with automation, monitoring, alerts
  • Compact form factor for easy deployment in space-constrained installations
  • Plug-and-play setup for rapid, scalable IoT rollouts

Designed for applications such as remote utility monitoring, logistics automation, digital signage, and unattended retail devices, the DWM-311 supports intelligent automation for tasks like inventory tracking, replenishment requests, and predictive maintenance.

The launch aligns with D-Link’s “One Connection – Infinite Possibilities” philosophy, strengthening its commitment to enabling secure, scalable, and intelligent networking for enterprises and industry innovators across the IoT landscape.
