First-of-its-kind in India, the 2-minute audio summaries aim to cut through information overload and reshape research consumption for institutional investors
Axis Capital has unveiled Sound Bytes, an AI-powered feature delivering sharp 2-minute audio briefs of its securities research. Part of the firm’s Future-Forward Research Solutions Suite, the innovation is designed to help institutional investors consume insights quickly and on the go, without losing depth or context.
Built on large language models and fully integrated into Axis Capital’s workflow and compliance systems, Sound Bytes provides “listen–filter–curate” summaries before a deeper engagement with full reports. The tool is positioned as a first-of-its-kind in Indian equity research, offering cognitive hooks that prioritize core theses, rationale, and actionable calls.
“We are delighted to lead the charge in AI-led products in investment banking in India,” said Atul Mehra, MD & CEO of Axis Capital. “Sound Bytes helps address the critical problem of information overload for investors and is only the beginning of a range of AI-driven solutions we are building.”
Tackling information overload
Axis Capital said the move responds to the rising challenge of cognitive overload among investors, with vast volumes of market information competing for limited attention. By offering concise audio abstracts accessible while commuting, driving, or between meetings, Sound Bytes promises speed, accessibility, and reduced fatigue for users.
Neelkanth Mishra, MD & Head of Global Research at Axis Capital and Chief Economist at Axis Bank, noted: “As the Indian market grows in size and diversity, we understand the pressure it places on our clients’ time. Sound Bytes is the first in a tranche of solutions to reshape engagement with our products, scaling up services without diluting quality.”
Raman Jauhar, MD & Head of Equities at Axis Capital, added: “Innovation demands a departure from convention. With Sound Bytes, we are tackling the issue of cognitive strain by streamlining access to our research, introducing a homegrown solution tailored for the Indian market.”
Future-forward ambition
Axis Capital confirmed that Sound Bytes is the first of multiple AI-led products in the pipeline aimed at transforming the research-to-consumption cycle. The platform has already been deployed across flagship reports, including analyses on GST rationalization, quick commerce, household durables, and India’s rare earth elements strategy.
With this move, the bank is positioning itself at the intersection of technology, client engagement, and financial research innovation — setting a precedent for how institutional investors will interact with equity intelligence in the years to come.
