S&P Global’s cloud and infrastructure leader joins advisory board to guide enterprise network modernization

Alkira has appointed Guru Ramamoorthy, Global Head of Cloud & Infrastructure at S&P Global, to its Advisory Board, strengthening the company’s leadership as it accelerates its AI-native networking strategy for large enterprises.

Ramamoorthy joins Alkira at a time when organisations are rethinking network architectures to support multi-cloud environments, AI-driven workloads, and evolving security demands. His appointment follows the recent addition of Maria Martinez, former COO of Cisco Systems, further reinforcing Alkira’s advisory bench with senior enterprise technology leaders.

At S&P Global, Ramamoorthy leads a global team of more than 1,000 professionals, overseeing cloud, network, security, and AI-driven infrastructure operations. With over two decades of experience across major financial institutions including Visa and BNY Mellon, he is widely recognised for delivering large-scale infrastructure transformation and operational efficiency in complex enterprise environments.

“Enterprise networks must be designed for AI, multi-cloud scale, and resilience from day one.”

Amir Khan, CEO & Founder, Alkira

“Guru’s experience managing global, mission-critical infrastructure at scale makes him an outstanding addition to our advisory board,” said Amir Khan, CEO and founder of Alkira. “His deep expertise in cloud transformation, network modernisation, AI integration, and cybersecurity will be invaluable as enterprises redesign their network foundations for the AI era.”

The appointment comes amid a period of rapid innovation for Alkira. In late 2025, the company launched its Network Infrastructure Assistant (NIA) co-pilot along with a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, enabling organisations to manage multi-cloud networks using natural language interfaces. These capabilities are aimed at simplifying network operations while improving agility, visibility, and control.

Commenting on his new role, Ramamoorthy said modern enterprises require networks that can seamlessly support AI workloads, distributed cloud environments, and changing security requirements. He noted that Alkira’s Network Infrastructure-as-a-Service (NIaaS) approach bridges traditional and modern networking models while enabling organisations to future-proof their infrastructure.

Alkira positions its AI-native NIaaS platform as a way for enterprises to unify sites, users, and environments through a cloud-delivered network that scales on demand—without the need for new hardware or complex architectures. The platform is already used by Fortune 100 enterprises, system integrators, and global managed service providers.

With Ramamoorthy’s appointment, Alkira aims to further strengthen its role in helping enterprises modernise, operate, and secure global networks in an increasingly AI-driven world.
