Saviynt’s latest study shows 94% of professionals believe certifications significantly improve hiring prospects

Amid a widening global talent shortage in cybersecurity, AI-centric certifications are proving to be a powerful catalyst for career advancement—particularly in India and the broader SAARC region. According to a new survey by Saviynt, a global leader in cloud identity security, 94% of cybersecurity professionals believe employers prefer certified candidates, underlining a rising demand for credentialed expertise.

The findings come as Saviynt ramps up its footprint in India, including expanding its ISAA (Identity Security for the AI Age) program. Designed as a no-cost, self-paced certification, ISAA offers learners a mix of AI/ML-driven curriculum and identity security fundamentals, empowering professionals to adapt to fast-evolving cyber threats.

“The fact that nearly 64% of respondents said the ISAA certification boosted their confidence speaks volumes,” said Shankar Ganapathy, COO of Saviynt. “We’re not just offering training—we’re building the next generation of cyber defenders who understand the intersection of AI and identity.”

“Certifications are no longer just credentials—they are the currency of confidence in cybersecurity careers.”

— Shankar Ganapathy, COO, Saviynt

With over 500 early-career professionals and students surveyed, the study revealed:

  • 52% rated AI/ML coursework as ‘extremely relevant’ to their career aspirations.
  • 69% already hold cybersecurity certifications, indicating that even experienced professionals seek to stay ahead of the curve.
  • 94% plan to pursue more certifications, affirming the growing value of credentialing in the cybersecurity domain.

Saviynt is also collaborating with Indian universities to embed its curriculum at the grassroots level, fostering talent pipelines aligned with industry needs. The program aligns closely with national goals to build cyber-capable human capital for safeguarding digital infrastructure.
