Acronis Strengthens Cyber Resilience with Launch of Cyber Protect Local

Acronis

In a major move to enhance cyber resilience for data-sensitive and sovereign environments, Acronis has announced the launch of Acronis Cyber Protect Local, a unified on-premises cyber protection solution designed for organizations operating outside the public cloud.

The new platform combines backup, recovery, cybersecurity, and endpoint management into a single, integrated system. It is purpose-built for environments where cloud deployment is limited, prohibited, or regulated—such as government networks, industrial control systems (ICS), and critical infrastructure sectors like utilities and healthcare.

Despite the broad adoption of cloud-based applications, critical systems that power water, electricity, and transportation still rely on legacy hardware and software that remain vulnerable to cyberattacks,” said Gaidar Magdanurov, President at Acronis. “Acronis Cyber Protect Local brings the power of our trusted cloud platform directly on-premises, giving organizations control, compliance, and resilience.

“Critical infrastructure needs protection where the cloud cannot go,” says Gaidar Magdanurov, President, Acronis.

The platform ensures data sovereignty by keeping management and storage fully within the customer’s perimeter—supporting both legacy systems like Windows XP and modern virtualization platforms including Nutanix, VMware, Proxmox, and Hyper-V. Organizations benefit from one-click recovery, cross-platform portability, and AI-driven automation, all managed through a unified console.

Among its key innovations, the solution introduces Device Sense™, which automatically discovers unmanaged endpoints across IT and OT networks. This feature enhances visibility, simplifies endpoint security, and minimizes tooling complexity. Furthermore, AI-powered anomaly detection and self-service recovery help enterprises reduce downtime and human intervention during cyber incidents.

According to Acronis, more than 50% of OT organizations experienced a cybersecurity incident in 2025, underscoring the need for localized, integrated protection. By consolidating multiple tools into one platform, Cyber Protect Local aims to reduce operational costs while delivering proactive, active, and reactive defense layers for high-assurance environments.

With Cyber Protect Local, Acronis extends its global cyber protection expertise to customers requiring sovereign, air-gapped, or hybrid deployments—bridging the gap between operational continuity and modern cyber defense.
