Delta Electronics India, a leading provider of power management and smart green technology solutions, in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC), has inaugurated a cutting-edge Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Robotics and PLC Automation at the College of Engineering, Bargur, located in Krishnagiri district, Tamil Nadu.
The newly launched Centre is designed as a state-of-the-art industrial automation training hub, aimed at narrowing the gap between academic learning and practical, industry-ready skills. Implemented by the Tamil Nadu Apex Skill Development Centre for Automobile (TN AutoSkills), the CoE will serve engineering students, jobseekers, and working professionals seeking advanced competency in robotics, programmable logic controllers (PLC), and smart assembly technologies—key pillars of Industry 4.0.
Positioned to strengthen Tamil Nadu’s role as a national manufacturing powerhouse, the initiative supports the state’s broader agenda of fostering a future-ready, automation-skilled workforce. The Centre features sophisticated training infrastructure including 4-axis and 6-axis robotic systems, PLC workstations, and a smart screwdriver assembly cell replicating real factory conditions.
“This collaboration brings advanced robotics and automation training closer to our youth, preparing them to drive Tamil Nadu’s manufacturing growth.”
— Thiru C. Dinesh Kumar, District Collector
Speaking at the launch, Benjamin Lin, President, Delta Electronics India, emphasized Delta’s long-term commitment to advancing India’s industrial capabilities. He noted that the CoE is part of Delta’s strategic vision to equip professionals with hands-on experience in modern automation environments, enabling productivity improvements, innovation, and sustainable industrial growth.
Echoing this sentiment, Niranjan Nayak, Managing Director, Delta Electronics India, highlighted that the facility has been built to mirror real-world manufacturing conditions, ensuring learners gain practical exposure to automation systems crucial to current and future industry needs.
Under TNSDC’s flagship Vetri Nichayam initiative, the Centre will offer monthly short-term programmes of 120 hours and quarterly long-term courses of 272 hours, with each batch accommodating 20–25 trainees. The curriculum is designed to deliver measurable skill outcomes aligned with immediate industry applications.
Marking its commitment to environmental stewardship, Delta Electronics India also conducted a large-scale tree plantation drive in Bargur, planting 30,000 saplings to promote sustainable development alongside technological progress.
This collaboration signifies a major step toward building a skilled, resilient, and technology-driven workforce capable of fueling Tamil Nadu’s and India’s industrial transformation.
