Seasoned Dell veteran to accelerate AI adoption and enterprise growth across Asia Pacific, Japan & Greater China
Dell Technologies has appointed Richard McLaughlin as President of its Asia Pacific, Japan & Greater China (APJC) region, reinforcing the company’s leadership focus on enterprise growth, AI adoption, and customer-centric innovation across one of its fastest-growing markets. McLaughlin succeeds Peter Marrs, who will move into a senior leadership role in North America.
As President, McLaughlin will lead strategy and sales across the APJC region, covering key markets including India, Japan, Greater China, Australia & New Zealand, South Korea, Singapore, and South Asia & Emerging Markets. He will be based in the region and report to Pete Trizzino, President, Global Sales, Dell Technologies.
With over 25 years at Dell Technologies, McLaughlin brings deep institutional knowledge and global enterprise experience to the role. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President in Dell’s sales organization, where he led a global team delivering technology solutions to multinational enterprises. His career at Dell has spanned multiple leadership roles, including Vice President for the Americas and Director for Global Accounts in the financial services sector.
The appointment comes at a time when enterprises across APJC are accelerating digital transformation initiatives, particularly around AI, hybrid cloud, data platforms, and cybersecurity. Dell Technologies has been investing heavily in AI-ready infrastructure, edge computing, and integrated solutions to help organizations modernize IT environments while managing complexity and cost.
“Rich’s global expertise and customer-first mindset have consistently delivered meaningful outcomes for customers worldwide,” said Pete Trizzino, President, Global Sales, Dell Technologies. “I’m confident he will build on that momentum and drive continued growth across APJC. I’d also like to thank Peter Marrs for his leadership in the region and look forward to his continued impact in North America.”
Commenting on his new role, McLaughlin highlighted the strategic importance of the region. “APJC represents tremendous opportunity, driven by rapid innovation and increasing adoption of AI and digital technologies,” he said. “With a strong portfolio and a culture of innovation, we will help customers simplify operations, harness AI, and accelerate business outcomes.”
McLaughlin is known for his focus on talent development, long-term customer relationships, and community engagement, aligning closely with Dell’s people-first culture.
