Veteran technology leader to drive Okta’s next phase of identity‑led growth across the APJ region
Okta has announced the appointment of Dan Mountstephen as Senior Vice President and General Manager for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), reinforcing its commitment to advancing identity as a foundation for cybersecurity, digital transformation, and AI‑powered innovation.
Based in Singapore, Mountstephen will shape regional strategy, scale go‑to‑market execution, and accelerate partner‑driven growth. His leadership will focus on deepening Okta’s relationships with major enterprises and public sector organizations, while strengthening the company’s position as identity becomes central to addressing increasingly complex threat environments. A key part of his mandate is ensuring organizations secure every identity — human and non‑human — to maintain trust and resilience across digital ecosystems.
“Identity is now the control plane of modern security.” — Dan Mountstephen
“We are pleased to welcome Dan to Okta as we enter our next phase of growth in Asia Pacific and Japan,” said Jon Addison, Chief Revenue Officer, Okta. “With his focus on go‑to‑market and partner-led scale, Dan is well positioned to lead the expansion of Okta’s footprint across APJ as we become the number one identity layer for the region’s largest organizations. Dan’s leadership will be critical as we continue to grow in the region and support organizations in securing every identity at this pivotal time.”
Reflecting on his appointment, Mountstephen said, “I’m excited to join Okta at a time when identity has become the control plane for security, transformation, and the AI era.” Emphasizing the role of partners, he added, “Partners have a choice, and earning that choice every day is a priority for me. By focusing on partnering strategically as a force multiplier, we will provide unique growth levers that accelerate value far beyond what we could each achieve alone.”
With more than 20 years of leadership experience in technology and cybersecurity, Mountstephen has held senior roles at Saviynt, Cisco Systems, Motorola, and Siemens, bringing a rich understanding of enterprise identity, security, and regional market dynamics.
