New AI-powered SRE assistant accelerates root-cause discovery and minimizes downtime for global enterprises

Datadog, the Nasdaq-listed observability and security platform trusted by over 30,500 enterprises worldwide, has unveiled Bits AI SRE, a fully autonomous AI agent designed to transform incident investigation and accelerate service recovery. Introduced at the company’s annual DASH conference, Bits AI SRE is Datadog’s first generally available AI agent under its expanding Bits AI suite.

As digital businesses scale, incident response has become increasingly complex, with engineering teams struggling to trace root causes amid fragmented systems, multi-cloud workloads, and rising alert noise. Bits AI SRE aims to eliminate this burden by autonomously analyzing telemetry, runbooks, architecture metadata, and organizational context to isolate actionable root causes within minutes.

“Bits AI SRE marks a new phase of intelligent, autonomous reliability for modern enterprises.”

This launch represents a pivotal expansion of Datadog’s AI strategy as our first generally available AI agent, and signals a new phase of intelligent, automated reliability,” said Yanbing Li, Chief Product Officer, Datadog. She emphasized that the agent has already been tested across more than 2,000 customer environments, delivering measurable improvements in Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR).

Instead of waiting for engineers to log in, Bits AI SRE performs its own investigation the moment an alert fires—correlating logs, metrics, traces, and configuration data to produce a validated conclusion. It then pushes the findings directly into collaboration tools, enabling teams to take action faster and reduce customer impact.

Early customers are already reporting significant improvements. “During an incident, the first five minutes are critical. Bits AI helps us cut through the noise by instantly surfacing the right context,” said Thiyagarajan Anandan, Senior Engineering Manager, Uber Freight. Another customer, Andrew Seok Ju Kim, Data Engineer at DelightRoom, noted that MTTR has improved significantly: “For most cases, the investigation is already taken care of before our engineers even open their laptops.

Engineered for enterprise adoption, Bits AI SRE includes RBAC, HIPAA-ready support, and enterprise-grade AI governance, ensuring organizations can deploy AI agents securely and confidently.

With Bits AI SRE, Datadog positions itself at the forefront of autonomous operations—ushering in an era where AI agents can handle the grunt work of incident management, allowing engineers to focus on building resilient, high-performing systems.
