In a strategic move to strengthen global tech alliances, the Government of Karnataka hosted the Global Collaboration Meet today at Hotel Four Seasons, Bengaluru. Organized under the Global Innovation Alliance (GIA) initiative by the Department of Electronics, IT, Biotechnology, and Science & Technology, the event aimed to promote the upcoming Bengaluru Tech Summit 2025 (BTS 2025) to international partners and trade missions.
The meet was graced by senior government officials including Dr. Ekroop Caur, IAS, Secretary to Government, Department of Electronics, IT, BT and S&T; Shri Rahul Sharanappa Sankanur, IAS, Managing Director, KITS; and Shri Daljeet Kumar, IAS, Deputy Secretary, Department of Electronics, IT, BT and S&T. Delegates from over 20 countries including the UK, USA, Germany, Japan, Israel, and Australia participated, reflecting the growing global interest in Karnataka’s tech ecosystem.
Dr. Ekroop Caur highlighted the significance of BTS 2025, scheduled from November 18–20 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), a state-of-the-art venue that will host the summit for the first time. “BTS 2025 will be a powerful reflection of global engagement under the GIA Initiative, especially in innovation, skilling, and emerging technologies,” she said, inviting partner nations to host pavilions and lead country-focused sessions.
Launched in 2017, the GIA initiative has expanded its network from 10 countries to over 35 by 2025, fostering international collaboration in technology, research, and policy. BTS 2025 is expected to attract over 100,000 attendees, including 20,000+ startup founders, 1,000+ investors, and 1,200+ exhibitors from 60+ countries.
The summit will feature 10 conference tracks including AI Universe, Finverse, Defence & Spacetech, and My Planet My Future, focusing on sustainability and climate tech. A key highlight will be the Future Makers Conclave, showcasing changemakers and innovators from across the globe.
Startups will be at the heart of BTS 2025, with dedicated programmes like the Startup Springboard offering investor pitching, mentoring clinics, and international market access. Additional events such as the Rural IT Quiz, Bio Quiz, and Global Leaders Reception will enrich the summit experience.
