New facilities will add 170MW by 2031, powered by 100% renewable energy and AI-ready cooling systems
Colt Data Centre Services has commenced construction of Colt Paris 2—the first of five new data centres planned under a €2.3 billion investment in France. The hyperscale data centre operator aims to deliver 170MW of total capacity across the Paris region by 2031.
“This project demonstrates our dedication to sustainable growth and innovation while supporting France’s digital ambitions.”
— Niclas Sanfridsson, CEO, Colt DCS
Located in Villebon-sur-Yvette, Colt Paris 2 is the first of three centres on a new 12.5-acre site. Two additional facilities, Colt Paris 5 and 6, will rise nearby in Les Ulis. The company’s sustainable design integrates hybrid cooling using air and liquid-to-chip technologies, zero water waste, and waste heat reuse for community benefit.
“Breaking ground at Colt Paris 2 is the exciting next step in our long-term commitment to France and its thriving digital economy,” said Niclas Sanfridsson, CEO, Colt DCS. “We’re helping meet growing demand for AI and cloud services while setting new sustainability standards.”
The facility will deliver 40MW, support cabinet densities above 100kW, and run entirely on renewable energy. Sourced with EU materials and generating 300 construction jobs, the project underscores Colt DCS’ role in enabling next-gen AI infrastructure across Europe.
