NETGEAR has opened a new software development center in Chennai, India, to advance its AI and cloud-based solutions for business connectivity. This move is part of NETGEAR’s ongoing investment in simplifying networking solutions for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) while maintaining reliability and cost-effectiveness.

The new center, formed after NETGEAR’s acquisition of VAAG Systems, a local cloud software company, aims to enhance the company’s capabilities in next-generation networking. VAAG’s team, known for its expertise in troubleshooting networks using AI, brings valuable intellectual property and experience from collaborations with leading tech companies like Qualcomm, HP, Cisco, and MaxLinear.

Over the next 12 to 18 months, NETGEAR plans to rapidly expand its engineering team in Chennai by over 100 employees, solidifying its commitment to providing innovative networking solutions for businesses worldwide.
