Dr. Makarand Sawant Joins Sahyadri Group as Vice President – Information Technology. He would head Digital Transformation and IT for the group. His KRA would including setting IT strategy, management and overall IT direction of this rapidly growing organization. He would also lead IT projects and strategic development initiatives for improving effectiveness of information technology by mitigating risk and managing compliance.
Dr. Makarand has 23 years’ experience in automating multi-billion dollar enterprises. He has a strong past record of success in creating robust IT architectures and infrastructures. Dr. Sawant has proved his ability to bring benefits of IT to solve business issues while managing costs and risk. His strategic direction on technology has earned him many national and international awards. Before join Sahyadri, he was the Senior General Manager – IT at Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals Corp. Ltd. He has a PhD in Analytics with research title “USE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY TO GIVE BUSINESS VALUE”.
