Bhaskar’s 15 Years Tenure with Check Point Draws to a Close

After being promoted to a global role, Bhaskar has now tendered his resignation with Check Point.

September witnessed Check Point appointed Sundar N Balasubramanian as its Managing Director for India & SAARC. The news came as a shock for the industry as it effectively dethroned Bhaskar Bakthavatsalu, who has been a crucial part of the company for the last 15 years. During his tenure he has successfully built the company’s sales, technical, management and channel ecosystem from grounds up.

On being replaced as the MD of the security company, Bhaskar was then promoted to take on a global role. But since then Bhaskar has tendered his resignation and will come to the end of his one and a half decade long tenure with Check Point in December 2019.

Bhaskar has been with Check Point since 2004 and has contributed to the growth of our business in India. We would like to thank him for his contributions and wish him the best in his future endeavours”

Sharat Sinha, Vice President & General Manager, APJ, Check Point Software Technologies.

As Managing Director for India and SAARC, Sundar will be responsible for Check Point’s continued growth in the region. He will report to Sharat Sinha, VP & GM, APJ. Sundar has over 25 years of experience in IT and has held key positions with companies such as IBM, Microsoft, and EMC/VMware. He has a MBA from the IIM, Calcutta and a B.Tech from the IIT, Bombay.

“India continues to be an important market for Check Point in Asia Pacific. Under the strong leadership of our Managing Director for India and SAARC, Sundar N Balasubramanian, our team of over 150 employees and our network of partners will continue to meet the market’s cybersecurity needs as India’s economy continues to grow and organisations across sectors embrace digital transformation,” Sinha added.
