Atos Achieves Environmental Certification for Four of its Atos | Syntel Sites in India

The certification reflects Atos’ commitment to use resources efficiently and responsibly and to measure and manage environmental impact of company decisions.

Four of Atos’ largest sites in India, consolidated through the acquisition of Syntel in 2018, have achieved ISO 14001 environmental certification. The certification reflects the company’s commitment to use resources efficiently and responsibly and to measure and manage environmental impact of company decisions. This is in line with Atos Group standards, as almost 90% of its main offices and core datacenters are already certified or in the process of being certified at the end of 2019.  These Atos | Syntel sites include two locations in Mumbai (SEEPZ and Airoli), as well as two global development campuses located in Pune and Chennai.

ISO 14001 is an international standard that specifies requirements for an effective environmental management system (EMS), which provides an operational tool for measuring environmental goals. The new ISO 14001 certification addresses a wide range of environmental initiatives, including carbon reduction, energy consumption, travel impacts, and waste and recycling management across the four sites.

“Atos is proud to be on the cutting edge of environmental responsibility, by earning ISO 14001 certification for our biggest facilities in India. We are leading by example and setting a new standard in India, making Atos a great place to work and doing our part to make the planet a better place for future generations,” Rakesh Khanna, CEO, Atos | Syntel.
