Technology Predictions 2018 – Mobility

Mobility has seen an accelerated growth chart in Indian enterprises in the recent years. In a survey by IDC, 37% of the Indian organizations have rated enterprise mobility as crucial. With IoT and other enabling technologies like analytics and cloud, the adoption of mobility is rapidly increasing and combined with the impact of AR/ VR, mobility will witness a transcendental shift in the way customers and enterprises perceive it today. Intelligent conversational bots aka chatbots will also be largely integrated into the mobile app space.

The AR/VR, indoor navigation and wearable technologies powered by data, analytics, and streamlined security strategies will not only be used for better customer experience but also for workforce optimization and operational efficiency. Better customer experience and enhanced business efficiency are driving demands for businesses today. A recent Morgan Stanley report estimates that it will not be long before smart phone ownership increases to cover 100 percent of Indian millennial. Some of the biggest companies are going a step further by making their offices equipped with Augment Reality which will virtually end the gap between physical and virtual presence. This way these companies can further encourage their employees to collaborate remotely. Flexibility has become a business imperative with the upsurge of new technologies, and BYOD and more employees working remotely is the norm for enterprises in 2018.
