Day 1 of The Sixth Edition Big CIO Show saw top Indian and global CIOs coming together in India’s Financial Capital

The Sixth Edition Big CIO Show began with a welcome address by Mohammed Saleem, Chief Executive Officer, Trescon. The key topic of the opening address by Dr. Paritosh Basu, Sr. Professor NMIMS University, Mumbai, was on the ‘future of IT.’ He stressed on the fact that Information System can be used for minimisation of value destruction and maximization of value creation. He also explained how Green IT or ‘GIT’ can ensure that IT is developed, delivered and used in a way that is environmentally friendly, sustainable and energy efficient.

The next keynote presentation was about the Digital Industrial Revolution, presented by Axel Angeli, Digital Transformation Evangelist & Advisory Board Member, Trescon. The subject of the keynote was about what the future of Digital Transformation will promise, what participation it demands and how an affluence of new professions, technology and challenges will deprecate old habits of the social life.

Other notable highlights of the day include a keynote presentation by Dr. Ganesh Natarajan, Chairman, NASSCOM Foundation & 5F World, on Digital platform for Digital Skills. His keynotes addressed what exactly are the skills needed to impart to the workforce of tomorrow.

He emphasised the need for companies to train their workforce in order to weather what he called “The Perfect Storm”- a series of innovations that have been taking the world by storm in the last few decades. Exponential technologies like Big Data/Analytics, Cloud Computing and Automation of Knowledge Work, to name a few, are fuelling this storm.

The 1st day, which had about several keynotes, panel discussions, tech talks, and power networking sessions ended with a panel discussion on the topic of Cyber Security. Panellists included Jasmine Gorimar, Mathan Babu, Ashutosh Sharma, Trishneet Arora & Ritu Madbhavi and Axel Angeli discussed critical concepts of why companies need more advanced way to protect themselves to avoid sophisticated attacks.

The 2nd day of the show will include topics like Blockchain, Digital Transformation and Robotics where industry experts will talk about the transformative change these technologies have. Speakers like Aleksander Nowak, CIO, Blockchain Expert, UK; Tony Christou Doulou, VP – IT & PE, American Tower Corporation, South Africa; Leonel Da Costa, Sales Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Kodak Alaris; Amit Anand, Delivery Manager, Horizon 360, McKinsey & Company; Steven Nunez, Senior Director, Professional Services & Solution Engineering, APAC, MapR and many others will be gracing the stage on the final day of the Big CIO Show.

Later that day, 50 of the most outstanding achievers in IT innovation and leadership will be honoured at the glittering ‘Big 50 CIO Awards Ceremony’. The award is in recognition for outstanding contribution to the world of IT as CIOs have to rapidly adapt to the ever changing IT world in order to ensure the survival of their businesses/companies. Those who weather such changes are armed with a knowledge that is honed through experience, but the application of this knowledge in the wider scope of things ultimately decide the very fate of their businesses.

Some of the technology providers presenting their solutions at the show include Infor, MapR, Shivaami Cloud Services, Team Computers, To The New, Rahi Systems, MongoDB, Web Werks, Suse, Symphony Summit, Flock, Forrester, Finesse and White Panda.
