Stakeholders join hands to create a blueprint for ‘Digital Revolution’ of Haryana

Government of Haryana announces the launch of the state’s IT & ESDM Policy, Start Up Policy, Cyber Security Policy

The Government of Haryana and National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) today jointly hosted the debut edition of the Digital Haryana Summit in Gurgaon. The daylong summit was organized as part of the state’s Swarna Jayanti celebrations, where industry experts, visionaries, thought leaders, policy makers, and academicians came together to discuss the foundation of the state’s digital growth story.

Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, inaugurated the summit, along with Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, and Devender Singh, Principal Secretary, State Electronics & I.T. Departments. Aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Digital India, the Government of Haryana launched its IT & ESDM Policy, Tower Policy, Start Up Policy, Cyber Security Policy and SARAL Citizen delivery tracking Portal. The state government has been working with KPMG and NASSCOM for over two years to develop a blueprint of creating a Digital Haryana.

In a step towards boosting the startup ecosystem in the city, the state government in association with NASSCOM announced the opening of startup warehouse in Gurgaon, with an eighty-four seater capacity along with a mobile application development incubation center within the warehouse. The warehouse has already received more than 350+ applications from the startups for facility. The state government also launched Centre for IoT (Internet of Things), Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), and incubation centers.

To promote innovation in the field of emerging technologies like IoT, Robotics and Artificial intelligence and create an ecosystem for the adoption of newer solutions in the industry, MeitY in partnership with state government of Haryana and NASSCOM announced launch of Center of Excellence in the state.

Speaking on the occasion, Sangeeta Gupta, Senior Vice-President, NASSCOM, said, “Gurgaon has been at the forefront of the technology and business revolution in India. The Summit will help all stakeholders come together to develop a blueprint of the next digital revolution for the state. We are pleased to be associated with State Government to digitally transform the state and are committed to working with the local ecosystem to strengthen it further.”

The Summit was aimed at driving a singular agenda for scripting the digital transformation of Haryana, by connecting the building blocks of digital governance, innovation and citizen partnership, and discussing the major changes and developments that will shape the digital future of the state.
